proud breeders of apha reined cow horses
Sally is a 2021 bay grade Appaloosa mare that we added to the ranch in December of 2023. While we aren't sure of her exact breed or combination of breeds, we do know that Sally does have quite a bit of Appaloosa influence. She has mottled skin around her lips and eyes and has small spots of white sprinkled randomly throughout her coat. Sally had a rough start in life, landing in a kill pen as a weanling foal. Thankfully she was rescued and given a soft place to land, and we acquired her shortly afterwards.
Sally is currently a surrogate mare, carrying a very special APHA colt and due to foal in April 2026. We will consider selling Sally after her 2026 foal is weaned. She would make a terrific project horse for someone with a limited budget. She is not the easiest horse to catch, but in a smaller pen it doesn't take long. Once haltered she is fine. She stands great for a farrier, loads well in a trailer and travels well. She's been hauled from Iowa to Oklahoma, and Oklahoma to Louisiana/Mississipp, and back to Iowa with no issues. $2000.00 after her 2026 foal is weaned.
