Sage stands 14.2 hands, is broke to ride and green broke to drive. She was purchased as a weanling by the Mr. for the Mrs. as a Christmas gift in 2007. Sage began competing in horse shows in 2009 as a two-year-old, and was retired from showing at age five, due to our lack of time to show. She was ridden occasionally as a trail horse and would ride off the same whether it had been 2 days or a year between rides. She mainly competed in 2- and 3-year-old snaffle bit, horsemanship and western pleasure.  She never let us leave a show empty handed, placing in every show she competed in.

In 2022 and 2023, Sage participated in large 2-day cattle drives (500+ head) at our friends’ ranch. She’s cowy and has a good handle! She has the most beautiful, fluid movement of any of our horses. Sage will be a lifelong resident of 4 Line Ranch. Her gentle nature and willing attitude makes her a favorite mount. 

In 2024 she became our daughter's mount for trail riding, while we put the miles on the younger mares. We don't worry about the safety of our kids with Sage. She's worth her weight in gold.

*Bloomfield, Nebraska Sizzlin Summer Show 4th in 2 & 3yr old filly halter, 4th in 19+ jackpot walk/trot (very large class) 

*Concord, Nebraska 3rd in 2 & 3 yr old western pleasure

2010: 

*Bits & Bridles Pre-Aksarben horse show 3rd in Sr. Sr. Western Pleasure, 3rd in 2 & 3 yr old snaffle bit

2011: *NECC Vet Tech Fundraiser Horse Show 3rd in horsemanship

2012: 

*Bloomfield, Nebraska spring show 3rd in Egg & Spoon

2020: 

*It’s Stupid Cold online horse show 1st place Paint horse and 1st place “Damit Inky” class (most memorable horse disaster award). We aren’t sure if we should be particularly proud of this win or not.
